According to Mr. Imokhuede that Npower Release The List of 2017 Successful Applicants In November
[Note: THIS WRITE-UP AND THE POINTS I’M MAKING HERE ARE NOT OFFICIAL. THEY ARE ENTIRELY MY CANDID OPINION BASED ON EXPERIENCE AND CAREFUL UNDERSTUDY OF THE N-POWER PROGRAMME. THEY SHOULD BE SEEN AND TAKEN AS MERE SUGGESTIONS.
1. BE ACTIVE ON SOCIAL MEDIA
The N-power recruitment process was designed to be done majorly online. This is why there’s no physical application form anywhere for the N-power programme. The main media of communication are the N-Power website www.npower.gov.ng, the Facebook page Npower. You need to follow on these channels and be active to be updated. You should also follow dedicated Telegram groups for Npower CharRoom (NVG). https://t.me/joinchat/DsFaNgr8tFiPDjdOuOpKXQ
CLICK HERE TO JOIN, and other similar groups. This is to enable you to be in touch with the majority of N-power applicants and current Volunteers.
2. READ UPDATES CAREFULLY AND ADHERE INSTRUCTIONS STRICTLY.
Whereas comprehensive reading should be a very simple and common skill activity for any graduate, experience has shown that it is not always the case. You can see different interpretations from different people who read the same post. So it is always best to get the information from the source and don’t depend on hearsay. Whenever there is an update from #NpowerNG, you take your time to read very carefully and adhere to the instructions correctly. Ask questions where you are not clear.
3. GET ALL YOUR CREDENTIALS (ORIGINAL AND PHOTOCOPY) HANDY.
Sometimes you may get the information on date and venue for physical verification late, and depending on your location it may be difficult to get together all the necessary documents and credentials. Losing out on such grounds to opportunities like this can be very shameful and painful. To avoid this, get all your necessary documents ready,
TIP: For every information, you provided concerning yourself during application, you will need to prove it during the pre-selection screening. Npower may require you to present the following documents, Proof for the qualifications you stated, proof of residence/Address in the LGA you indicated (Utility bills), A Valid means of Identification, Proof of Age (Birth certificate, Age declaration), Bank Details etc. Remember to make a photocopy for each of the required documents.
4. BE PRESENT DURING PHYSICAL VERIFICATION
Pre-selection screening will take place at the state/LGA of residence you choose during the application. If you don’t go for verification, you can as well kiss the programme goodbye, because I am certain you will stand no further chance. Find out what would likely stop you from being present at the State and LGA of residence you choose and take care of it beforehand.
5. REMOVE DND AND CHECK YOUR EMAIL REGULARLY.
The two ways by which #NpowerNG contacts applicants is via SMS and email. So you need to check your email regularly (at least once daily) and remove every impediment to your receiving mobile messages like this Do Not Disturb (DND).
6. BE UPDATED IN CURRENT AFFAIRS AND ON INFORMATION IN YOUR FIELD.
When the chips are down, how current you are and how knowledgeable you are about your area of choice could be the differentiating factor between you and the other applicants. The assessment is still ongoing and Npower might just decide to throw a quick one for you, especially where there is a strong competition.
7. LINK YOUR BVN TO A REGULAR BANK ACCOUNT
Unlike the 2016 volunteers, the Npower is not likely to give grace for anyone whose bank accounts are not linked to their BVN. It is most likely that as soon as the Account number you provided does not match your BVN, Npower will replace you with an applicant on the waiting list. So be proactive, do that now.
8. AVOID USING YOUR NYSC ALLAWEE ACCOUNT OR STUDENT ACCOUNTS
It is one thing to get to be shortlisted and it’s another to get paid. A good number of the 2016 Volunteers were not paid for several months because their accounts were not eligible to receive a deposit amount up to N30,000 naira. Make sure your account doesn’t fall into this category. Simply walk up to your bank and ask from the customer care desk the minimum deposit amount on your account.

BE POSITIVE AND PROACTIVE
This programme is for your benefit, as much as possible approach it with positivity. Don’t be pessimistic about anything and don’t let anything frustrate you. Be calm and open-minded. You may have been unemployed for a long time, but you are not alone, a lot of people are also in your shoes, so don’t get easily frustrated and don’t give anybody any chance to frustrate you. At all time during your involvement in the programme, treat yourself and everybody around you with utmost respect and curtsey. It’s not a do or die. It is either you are in or you are out.
10. LOOK BEYOND NPOWER, WHAT DO YOU SEE?
I see opportunities. Look ahead; there are other opportunities that you can explore beyond the Npower. Whether or not you were selected, you can set your targets far beyond the Npower experience and leverage your experience as a stepping stone, to your next business or career level. You can still build an enviable career beyond the Npower. I will encourage you to look towards starting a small business. It is true that getting a job is a wonderful and easy way to start a life for a young graduate like you, but when you cannot find the job, you can’t hold your arms and still be hoping. You have got to start something, start a something no matter how little, and grow it into something that you can be proud of.
